In 2010 Springboard launched the annual Inspiration Awards which recognises positive role models and their inspirational influence on others.  The Award ceremony takes place on UN Peace Day on 21st September and in 2012 awards will be presented by the Lord Mayor, before an invited audience in Belfast City Hall.

2012 COMMUNITY INSPIRATION AWARD

There are a number of award categories, one of which is the Community Inspiration Award.  This award recognises an inspirational role model who works in the community and makes a difference to the lives of others.  Each year the Community Inspiration Award is open to a different area within the community sector and in 2012 we wish to recognise and honour an individual or team who volunteer/work in the disability services field.

The Award will celebrate and acknowledge those who demonstrate excellence, passion, vision and commitment to the development of individuals with a disability to achieve their life goals, through upholding their rights and choices in a way that promotes inclusion.

We are therefore looking for nominations for the Community Inspiration Award from organisations, individuals or members of the public who wish to recognise and honour the achievements and role of an individual or a team who works / volunteers within the disability services field.

We expect those nominated (individual or team) make a significant contribution to improving the lives of people with a disability in any of the following areas:

1. As direct support workers currently in a direct support role with people with a disability.

2. As disability client service workers currently engaged in supporting people with a disability to enhance independence, choice and community inclusion.

3. As volunteers who work in the disability services field.

To nominate for the award please first read the Nomination Information & Guidelines and them either complete the form below or download a Word document version of the form here.
